Sanctions are the latest thing and the Russian foreign minister has said they do not intend to go to war with Turkey. Any thoughts on this? Storm in a teacup or trouble brewing?

They said they didnt know it was a Russian plane they shot down otherwise they would have thought twice about it, makes you wonder whos they thought it was if they didnt bother to think?

It's a nightmare scenario. On one side you have the Russians, on the other a bunch of Islamic fanatics pretending to be a responsible government. How can you believe either side of the story? Lying is endemic in both "cultures" and violence is a way of life for both. It frightens me that the full might of the US and NATO could be used to back up Turkey if Russia decides to escalate things. I don't think Turkey is worth a dime, let alone going to war for. Lord forbid they ever get into the EU - or at least before we get out of it. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
