2016 Toyota Land Cruiser

A friend of mine has placed on order for one of these a 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser.

Why cant JLR revert back to this styling Big Cry

On his WhatsApps cheeky sod ended with "There's only two cars that can cross the Australian desert. A Land Rover and a Land Cruiser, if you want to come back alive, I'd take the Land Cruiser"

Too much chrome for me, I would like to see a black pack version.

That looks hideous. Too much bling! I like the Land Cruiser and the Amazon model that came along in the late 90's is well respected and held its value well. A little too large for most British roads but well put together. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Was that the one they chucked off the top of the Empire State and still drove home in it?

Personally I would rather die in the Australian desert.

That is one nasty looking car, I've never been a fan of the Land Cruiser, much prefer the Shogun but then I would have to drive past the LR showroom to get one, that ain't going to happen.

My next purchase will be the next Defender, the Disco 5 I fear will be out of my league. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

That Land Cruiser isn't too bad.
Get rid of all that chrome, ditch the body kit and other bolt-on bling, chuck a bucket of mud over it and you've got something that looks like a proper 4x4.
Unlike Land Rovers new Discovery offerings (sport & 5), you can tell it's a purposeful off road vehicle.
Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Not at all surprised. One of my customers had their Discovery damaged & were lent a Land Cruiser. Not one of us said anything remotely complementary about it. It was just a huge carbuncle/hideous lump. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Like the basic boxy upright shape - but an ugly big bling- laden barge. That front end is so pig ugly they must surely have recruited some of the LR people who bloat the front ends of modern Landies. (Saw a nice new RR Sport today, but what an ugly front end- just no symmetry or simplicity of styling to it.) Such a big vehicle is going to suit many markets but its sheer bulk will not suit all. Long overhangs front and rear - it certainly isn't going to be nimble.
The old joke about coming out of the desert if you went into it in a Landcruiser is far removed from recent reality. Toyota's recent LCs have been nothing like the simple, reliable models that created the myth. Look underneath a new one and you can see lots of fragile, vulnerable mechanical bits exposed to damage - it is certainly not designed as a rugged easily fixed vehicle. A D3 or a D4 is actually much better designed for rough stuff and the recall and reliability woes of many Toyota models in recent years have been dire. Toyota's international dealer network is probably far better than the LR network in many markets so a Toyota may still be the most sensible choice for many but in a comparative test I don't think that barge would trouble a D4.

That Toyota looks horrible. Probably styled by Americans who, as we know, have no style whatsoever.

I like the look of the new RR sport. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=range+ro...eDNGF2I%3D
