Goodyear Wrangler or Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season

Loads of tyre threads but I couldn't find one to answer this question.

As it say in the title really - both are available for 235/55/19 and I don't really want AT (although they look good!) but the Pirelli is currently £10 each less expensive.

Has anyone had experience of the Pirelli, my previous FL2's had Goodyears which seemed to do what I need them to to.

Thanks

I have had both, I recall the Goodyear being a little quieter. Both gripped well in dry and wet.
They are so close, that unless you have a preference on tread pattern, I would get the cheapest.

I ran 18" Scorpion Zero's on my previous FL2 with great results and this one is running Scorpion Verde's, also with good results so far. Quiet, even tread wear, good grip and about 6mm left after running approx 15,000 miles including a large mileage in towing.

Thanks for that. Did you get similar mileage out of them?

I like the Wranglers but maybe money will talk!

As a matter of interest what do you have on the DS? I noticed a massive selection on the cars in the showroom the other day.

unfortunately I've only run the Wranglers after buying the car with 2 different brands on it

I've found them to be very reasonable on the motorway, grip will in the wet and performed flawlessly in the snow last winter. I'll be getting them again Thumbs Up

on our FL1 we ran P Scorpion STRs which were really good hence I'm very tempted with the Verdes

We ran STR's on my wife's Tiguan, they seemed to work ok but the tread always held on to gravel and small stones.

Hi BRD, I have posted somewhere on this before, Pirelli's gets my vote:

Fitted Scorpion Verde All seasons (235/55 R19) Oct 2013 and did 54000 KM's on them in all kinds of conditions and have just replaced with the same before winter arrives here in Switzerland. On road grip & road holding in wet and dry never any issues, fine on both loose snow and packed snow/ice conditions up in ski areas at temperatures down to -28 deg C. Last summer we drove to Croatia for our holiday (4 people + big dog + 630L roof box) no issues getting there and back and off road on mainly rock with lots of loose stones & gravel they experienced +42 deg C and were excellent throughout. Also I've never noticed any noise issues.
Cheeers,
Mick

You know this, but just to be clear ('cos I'm anal like that...)

Scorpion Verde and Scorpion Verde All Season are very different tyres. Make sure you get the ones you want!
