United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black
Seatbelt Fraying - Damaged Trim or Common problem

Hi All,

I picked up my MY2011 Freelander 2 GS from a car supermarket where there are many cars 'Available' Wink

I noticed at the weekend that the drivers seatbelt was frayed along the top edge (the upper most edge as you're wearing it).

I had a look along the seatbelt and found that where it comes out of the trim, there is a 'nick' out of the edge of the slot and it looks although the seatbelt has been sitting in it and wearing each other away each time the seatbelt is taken in and out, and even when you move forward and back.

i was wondering if anyone else had experienced this or if it was something that the previous owner had caused, I would imagine that if you had the slot in the lowest position and you were quite tall, it would put alot of pressure on the edge of the slot. but surely should be capable of it..

I will get the Mrs Browny90 to send me a picture and put in up shortly.

I've spoken to AC where I bought it from and have to take it into them to have a look, then they will have to order parts and I'll have to go back in for the repair.

Does anyone know the latest standards on frayed seatbelts? i used to work for Scania Trucks and did alot of MOT's but that was a few years ago now, dont know if its changed?

Thanks!

Browny
