New Tyres and its gone !

Hi Guys,
For the past few months, i've had a creaking/grinding noise coming from the rear of my Freelander which has been steadily getting worse. Not whilst on the move or going over bumps but when pulling off or on full lock at very low speed.

I recently had to pay out for a new rear diff and was dreading taking it to be looked at in case it was something major.

Last week I had 4 new tyres fitted and the creaking/grinding noise has completely dissapeared Confused

Does anyone have any ideas what it could have been and how its suddenly stopped ?

It's been reported on here, that some tyres when worn down become noisy ie; Goodyear all weather for one. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green
