My DS is due to be collected today 3pm.
It will be an interesting experience as I haven't actually seen the car, I purchased it based on colour / price and spec.

My friend picked up his new DS yesterday. I was surprised at how 'cheap' it was. He got a HSE Auto, privacy glass, Corris grey metallic paint, 5 year service plan, space saver spare wheel plus his on the road charges including a years tax and it came to just under £40,500. That's only £6,650 dearer than I've just paid for my 3 year old Evoque! Maybe I paid too much for mine? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

You drive a Range Rover, unlike us mere Land Rover mortals. Laughing

Bare in mind the HSE is more mid spec, with the Lux and Dynamic above it. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

Gee's those issues with the DS are terrible, I really think LR rushed the DS out too soon, I have never liked the look of the rear end and the dashboard design looks really cheap - and not offering a 5 seat from launch was also a bad move. Let's hope the new Discovery looks nothing like the renderings currently being offered by the motoring press (basically sticking a foot on the back of the DS and a raised roof towards the rear), as much as I hate to say it but LR should have kept the FL2 going for another year or so, perhaps just offering one or two trim levels - it would have sold... Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

PCH

I hope that you enjoy your new car, I haven't seen an orange one on the road, but thought it looked good when I saw one in the showroom.

Well, its been a couple of months, but I still love my DS

Fuel economy (2.2 engine) is always 20% better that any of my auto FLS'2 ever did
Ride is much better, especially when cornering
MUCH more space inside
9 Speed auto box is amazing when compared to the FL2 6 speed bag of marbles - press pedal, car moves!!!
Rear seats are genuinely useful for the smaller kids
Heated seats work, just much slower than FL2, and not as hot - I feel a CCF edit coming here
DAB radio is a different beast to that in my FL2's - it has a signal almost always, which is a new experience for me
Panoramic roof is waste of money would much rather have towbar/roof rails
Climate control is clunky to use, needs too many button/screen presses for my liking
media playback via USB is still cr@p, very limited codec support for videos.
InControl is a waste of time, the dedicated usb port does not provide enough power to keep phone charged
no Off road Nav in My meridian system ( early MOST system ) later models with Meridian dont have this issue
Build quality is generally pretty good, though some cheap plastics if u look hard enough

Glad your enjoying it Thumbs Up

Can't see me going back to one though. The Disco 5 hasn't captured my imagination either, I'm pining my hopes on the next Defender. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
