Skateboard vs Tonka Toys as a spare?

Last night I drove past a car that was being prepared to go on the back of a recovery truck. It was a small car and under one of the back wheels was a skateboard! I presume that it was more than just a flat tyre or they wouldn't be putting it on the truck. So I wonder how far he had gone, or had the skateboard failed?
It reminded me of the adverts years ago for Tonka Toys where someone claimed to have driven a VW beetle for several miles with a rear tyre sitting in a big Tonka lorry that they happened to have on board.
They don't make 'em like they used to! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I used to live near a guy who had an old Defender which he had painted (by hand by the looks of things) orange and had replaced the Defender lettering at the front with TONKA. He was secretly my hero. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎

Memories, I used to have a big tonka truck when I was a nipper, made of metal if I recall. Rock solid, not like all the plastic crap nowadays. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
