The load rating indicates the maximum weight that each tyre can carry. 101 = 800kg, 105 = 925kg.

ok thanks chaps, I think on mine at the min are 235/55/19 105V so i think sticking to 105H is probably the best bet rather than 101H.

Unadvisable to fit a tyre with a lower load rating that was fitted by the manufacturer.

If the tyres a lower load rating then its probably a lighter construction so that would mean less weight for the vehicle to shift so make it more economical, thats probably all thats in the better fuel rating claim?? |

yeah i certainly dont want to compromise on safety with 2 small kids in the car. so ill stick to the 105 for the load rating and changing from a V to the general grabber tyre which is a H is ok? 2010 HSE SD4 in Santorini black

According to TOPIx the standard tyres of that size are Conti Cross Contact 105V or 107V, Conti 4x4 Contact 105H and Michelin Latitude Tour HP 101/H. Winter tyres are Nokian 105/T, Conti 105/H and Pirelli 105/V. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
