Owned a FL2 since November 07. No problems with the car at all. No leaks, no sqeaks or rattles, nothing showing wear on this or that. Luvely plumage and the most enjoyable car I have driven for years .

It seems to me that some people believe that at the price they have paid for the FL2 they expect for things to work first time (especially if they have been used to german engineering or even high end japanese).

You won't regret it if you go for the FL2. I have the auto and it is fantastic, although it is very thirsty when local running and the difference in emissions (and hence tax) is a bit of a shock. How can you say you do not like the look of the new X-Trail ..... it looks just like the last one |

Rowy have no fear the RRS is 10mm narrower than the Freelander 2............................ RRS is 2170mm wide with the mirrors out F2 is 2180mm. RRS is 1784mm high at Normal road height, F2 is 1772mm RRS is 4788mm long, F2 is 4500mm Figures from Land Rover website So there isn't much in it size wise! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet? Now driving - RRE Coupe Dynamic Lux Auto with Plus pack, Fuji White, Ebony, SD4 with tow pack Gone - 2010MY FFRR TDv8 Stornoway and Ivory, Privacy - the pace of a TDv8 RRS, the incomparable grace of a Range Rover Gone but will be missed- RRS Tdv8 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather Gone (only a little missed) RRS Tdv6 2.7SE Giverny Green/Aspen Defender 90 County HT in Epsom Green |

Read again, and you'll see I am not saying not to voice problems, but I find it a little worrying when someones first post is just flamming a product....and this is based on my years on forums where unfortunately people sometimes like to sign up just to cause a little trouble. I think Eksdale has points, but the way they were put across I did not find very constructive as they did not explain the problems and basically the first line of someones first post should not just say something is a "POS" in my opinion otherwise it makes me think possible forum troll. The best way of passing on information is to make it constructive and purposeful, of which ranting is neither! In addition as I said I think Eksdale should start a new thread and let us know all of his problems in detail so it does not get mixed up in this one and provides useful info. It's all just my opinion............. Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back! |

A dodgy car can be a real pain but as has been said, it affects every manufacturer. I've had a merc go back on low loader after 2 hours of ownership, I've had an Audi blow up after 60 miles - it happens. I've also have tens of thousands of trouble free miles from both brands. As I know from other forums though, some cars just seem to be lemons. Fix one fault and another pops straight back up. Nobody's fault, they just crop up. I would contact LR and the dealer and tell them you are rejecting the car and want a deal to replace it. But, don't think all LRs are afflicted.

Couldn't agree with you more there and was the car I was really aiming for especially as it really can go offroad, but the price made the LR2 look like a bargain....plus I would have had to go for the V8 model as the V6 would have left me wanting Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back! |

Thanks all, that's certainly given me something to think about... I'd forgotten that they did a direct comparison (X-Trail v LR2) on Fifth Gear, so thanks for the reminder. Not a very fair comparison though, with an obvious winner...
