Interior colours. Too bad the one i want doesnt exist!!!

As the days draw near to my ordering a new freelander 2, I can't help but feel proud of the exterior looks of my potentially soon to be baby. Taking a step back however I do admit feeling slightly jealous of the interior design, looks and colour combinations of rival models such as the upcoming GLK, Q5 as well as the fantastic interior of the Volvo XC60 (check out the configurator!).

In my humble opinion since I am no fashion designer (I am an accountant), I don't think the existing colour combinations of the freelander do it much justice or bring out its full potential. With some simple tweeting using MICROSOFT PAINT, I have created my dream interior for the freelander by simply combinbing the ALPACA (replaced by Almond now) and EBONY interiors. There exist so many ridiculous combinations and still the one that in my opinion looks classy and beautifully contrasting is not available. I think that this interior would look quite nice especially with the ebony headlining.

I wonder if I can custom order such an interior from landrover and how much it would cost...

Your dealer may be able to put you in touch with a vehicle re-trimming/ upholstery company who can make new coverings for the frames in any design you want. One of the companies that are OEM for Land Rover trims is Exmoor Trim at www.exmoortrim.co.uk they may be able to help you too. If you have HUGE amounts of money to spend then you could have an Overfinch or Kahn interior............................. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

I couldn't understand why there wasn't a black cloth interior available. I thought the blue looked very strange, so opted for leather - which was a bad move because the quality of material (a significant part of which is not leather) is very poor. I have had the driver's seat base recovered, at 18 months / 12,000 miles and dont expect the replacement to last much longer. My old 2003 TD4, now owned by my son, black cloth upholstery is still in good nick.

Nikolas i think you're wrong....you are a fashion designer Laughing

I like the interior of the LR2 but do find it only slightly more interesting than BMW interiors in terms of colour combos and would think some nice contrasting seat and dash colours would have really added to the car! Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!

Nikolas,

The ironic thing is it was probably an accountant who made the decision to limit the options Rolling with laughter
