Boring thread - should I buy this or that?

Fiance has decided she wants a new SUV for the new baby and dog.

Looking at either this http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201510117714077

or this http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201510087613299

MPG isn't really a concern, mainly worried about residual value. Leaning towards i6 for the extra performance but the TD4 has black interior and lower mileage

With all the current Ooh ha with diesels and pollution, the breath of fresh air petrol version might start to go up in value, they are quite rare here??

Note that as well as the pretty dire mpg figures the annual tax on the i6 is £505 (according to the ad).

I wouldn't have thought residual value would be an issue on an '07 car - the period of high depreciation will be past.

According to the MOT website https://mot-history.net the diesel has had a nail in a front tyre for two MOTs, surprised that it only got an advisory. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

The petrol I suspect will have been maintained better, looks like its owned by a wealthy family. No expense spared and serviced direct by land rover since purchase.

the petrol looks to be in better condition, though that could be the photos

i like the light interior of it too

I have had a petrol a few times when my diesel was going to be fixed when the FL2 first got launched and i found the engine to be fun, but nothing OTT in terms of power

I would chose Petrol, if it has been looked after and everything checks out Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Short chrome strip across the hatch says it's 2007, so price may be a touch high despiite low mileage. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
