England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Baltic Blue
New Battery

Hi all, with the colder months upon us I've decided to get a new battery for my2009 freelander2 it's still on the original which appears to be getting ever more tired. Does any one know if its just a simple change new for old or am I likely to upset the electrics such as stereo code or anything like that?

I did mine, the only thing I had to do was reset the windows, which is dead easy. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

Same as above. The most awkward thing was undoing the bolt that secures the battery - mine had been put on by The Hulk. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

lower the window and hold down the switch for 3 seconds ,close the window and hold the switch for 3 seconds repeat on the rest of the windows .this restores the one touch function.

I don't know if it's the case with FL2 but with FL1s they had the habit of locking themselves when the new battery was connected. It happened to me and luckily the spare key was nearby otherwise.... 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

Quite a lot of battery discussion - a search should find it. Most people buy one slightly over-spec. I found that a) I got a good discount from Euro parts and b) there is an overflow pipe on the original battery. I had to prize out a plug on the new one in order to fit it. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Note that if you have stop-start you need an AGR battery. If you don't you don't. AGR and normal battery are not easily interchangeable as the charging parameters are different. Battery type will be marked on the casing. AGR are more expensive. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
