Hello,

This is the first time I have ever posted on a forum like this but I have been searching the Internet to try to find the solution to my problem with my Freelander with no avail.

The other day after I had driven my car for about 50 miles I turned off the ignition and went to get out of the car when it decided to raise itself up. I thought it would sort itself out when I next turned it on etc but it still has not gone back down to its original level. I really didn't want to take it in to Land Rover for something that may be a few taps on the buttons etc so I was wondering if anyone on here had any advice to get my car to go back to normal??? I have tried cycling through the 'off road' options in the center console and that has not worked.

I have some pictures of the car to show what I mean about it having 'raised'.

If anyone has any ideas I can try please let me know - many thanks in advance!!!!!

It shouldn't be 'raising' itself? Freelanders don't have that option to raise or lower, thats Discovery territory.....

Is is a Freelander 2? All FL2's (3) Gone

That looks normal to me? There is no manual option to raise or lower a freelander as it is just traditional springs and shocks.

The Discovery for example has air suspension which allows this. If there was a 'fault' as such, you would expect your car to 'drop', in the event of a leaking shock or broken spring. 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

The Freelander is based on a Ford platform. It can't raise! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Are you sure it was not just the seat moving as per the easy exit function, mine has always played up a bit, the seat should go down before you get out the car but sometimes it goes up instead. Might make you think the cars raising.

Can I suggest that you measure the distance from the top of each wheel arch to the ground and post the numbers here and we can compare with others? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Its probably to do with your seat not the car?

What makes you think its raised itself? It looks like any other FL2 to me and the same as mine, did you feel it go up as you were trying to get out of it? how heavy are you?
