front wheel noise

Noticed recently when turning a tinny metal noise from front wheel/s. There's a metal guard, sheild splash apparently, around the discs that when Ive moved slightly seems to resolve for a while...... suggestions ?

They sometimes get bits of grit go behind them and that can rattle around against the shield occasionally.

My son came home last weekend complaining about grinding noises from the front suspension on his FL2, he does a lot of off road driving around farms. I took the wheels off and took several hands full of gravel and mud from around the anti roll bars and steering arms and also found a few stones in the brake calipers.

Incidentally he also mentioned occasional momentary loss of power steering after going through water, presumably belt slipping. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
