Is it me or are they not a long as the ones on my my11...the look shorted and there is no recommendation in my my13 hand book to remove them if u go off road,as a pose the the old hand book,which recommended you remove them,? Current: Freelander 2 GS, Orkney Grey, Factory fit privacy glass, design pack and Clearview pack. Almond Leather ,rear spoiler,rear mudflaps.my13.

Yes they are shorter on newer models. If you search on the forum there is detail on long and short spats and part numbers for those of us updating older FLs with the facelift parts.

Their purpose is to stop water being thrown forward and up over the windscreen when the tyre hits a large amount of water. MY15

Were never fitted to any Dynamic's maybe the bodykit will stop the water |

I have some fitted to my 2007 freelander yet I still get the sudden splash of water on the windscreen which obstructs your view for a few seconds. |

In Sydney it is. A few times I had to stop because the rain was so thick you could not see more than a car length. Typical Sydney down pour but it doesn't last too long. Freelander2 much better when going through deep puddles than previous disco 3 so put it down to the spats,but could be wrong! |

When I fitted them to my previous MY10 car I'm sure that there was a noticeable improvement re water being thrown up onto the screen.
