Heater,Blower Motor

I have noise when heater motor is running.
It happens on all speeds and all temps (the faster the speed the noisier it is)
Has anyone removed the motor on a fl2, It seems quite inaccessible ?
There is a special tool req (412 140) @ £50 to extract fan.
Replacement motors are quite cheap and plentiful, so I imagine it is a common failure.
(searched here but only dealer replacements posted)

Joe Fix it until it's broke !

Hi Joe,

I have a similar problems. Noise reduces when I turn left. My whole blower unit was replaced by dealer over a year ago when it failed completely. I am ruling out kids as they never sit in the front. Did you find your root cause?

Thanks
G

Hi G, The noise disappeared and I never got around to investigating it anymore.
It does seem a Censored of a job to get at the motor/unit

Joe

BTW, check it is not the AC that requires re-gassing (loads of threads on here) Fix it until it's broke !
