Judging by the amount of corrosion in the engine bay, I would say you have playing in salt water?

Just because you cant normally see it doesnt mean the engine bay has to be left filthy, its good to know what cant be seen is as clean as it can be, bit like your underpants. |

Thanks for all the comments about the state of the engine bay that's 8 years of north scotland winters and gritted roads.

Just a thought but you can get the front bumper off in about 25 mins. There is a video on here somewhere showing you what to do. Might get you easier access. Or perhaps just remove the driver side wheel arch cover first and see if that gets you in.

Yeah I did look at the wheel arch liner but the bolts are totally rusted solid. Bumper off that's way out of my comfort zone but good idea! |
