Turn off alarm whilst sensor faulty

Hi all,

I think I have a faulty bonnet sensor that is causing my alarm to go off. How can I lock the car without any alarm, and not just the internal motion sensors. I know some people ask for the internal sensors to be inactive, but this won't stop the alarm entirely I believe.

Locking the car with a single press of the lock button on your fob stops the internal volumetric gubbins from working.

If that doesn't work, I would be looking under the bonnet for switch that is depressed when the bonnet goes down and see if that can be un-plugged or moved temporarily.

Would locking the car with the key work?

Temporary remove the electrical connecting plug from the bonnet switch and bridge the two pins with a short wire and two mini spade spades to slide on to the pins. You need to bridge the plug as the switch will be open circuit connecting the pins will close the circuit so the alarm will not trigger.

Part number has been superseded to LR065340. part costs around £19.50 Thumbs Up

I think locking with the key still has the same issue. '08 Freelander 2 HSE in Stornoway Grey
