Has anyone had a problem when they have fitted new towing electrics and turning them on?

I've fitted 13 pin electrics and asked my local LR specialist who uses Autologic to turn the trailer/towing bit on but my car won't let the diagnostics machine in and has locked them out.
My FL has never had a towbar or electrics fitted before (no evidence on the car).

The electrics came as Britpart, I thought I was getting genuine LR. Should that make a difference?

Hi, I do not understand when you say the car will not let the diagnostic in?
Is it the LR specialists licence codes out of date and the program is asking for them?
Activating/coding the the trailer module is quite basic.

Agreed. Took my indy 5 mins with his AutoLogic, and that included some general beard scratching and testicular rearrangement....

I did have genuine LR electrics though.....

I ended up going to LR to get mine done as the indy garage just mucked up my car. parking sensors stopped working and in there attempt to sort it managed to get the dash to light up like Blackpool illuminations! with more faults on the dash than ive ever seen on a car! in the end the correct program from LR sorted everything out. think it cost me £60. My car has genuine LR electrics tho might make a difference.

I know when i had a Jaguar XF i fitted aftermarket electrics and had jaguar program the car it didn't disable the parking sensors when towing. For that reason alone i would go with original electrics from now on but that's just me.
