Advice for a long run

I am taking a run from Bedfordshire up to Oban this coming weekend - the first time I have done a long run since I got the FL2.

I will run up the A1 and across on the A66 - I have a set of 18" wheels fitted so any preparation tips would be welcome

Fill it with fuel check tyre pressures including spare and all fluid levels give it a good look round that's about all I can say.

Would it be worth upping the tyre pressure slightly ?

FL2's excellent for long runs - really comfortable. Quick peek under the bonnet, give the tyres a kick, and that's it ready to go.

Don't underestimate how far you're going and how much rest you'll need, especially as the more challenging parts will come at the end of the journey not at the beginning. Leave early and allow yourself plenty of time; other road users will appreciate you not falling asleep at the wheel. Rolling Eyes

I did a run from North Aberdeenshire to London a few weeks ago with the dog in the back.

The amount of average speed cameras was mind blowingly annoying!

the car will eat away the miles, as said just take time to check the levels, have a flask in the car for pitstops and enjoy the sunsets

just after the A1 when you pull on to the A66, theres a large layby for a pee stop and a bacon butty (smells of pee a little though due to the scruffy truckers not using the lav)

My dad was up in Oban for a couple of weeks just before the last bank holiday, and this is what he had nearly every evening

Oban way is a lovely part of the world. The family and I were up that way a few years back for Xmas, never seen a sky like it, be pretty good if you were into astronomy. 2010 HSE SD4 in Santorini black

Thanks all, no one has come up with anything unexpected.

I will follow up on the link to Mainsgill Farm as this is about where I had intended to take a break, I will aim to post a few pictures when I get chance and signal.
