How hard is it to fit a new wing mirror?

Wing mirrors been smashed off so am ordering a new one, firstly, am I ok to fit a wing mirror without a puddle lamp (the old one had it but there's a price difference of about £80) secondly, how difficult is it to fit the wing mirror? It looks like I'll have to strip the door card but is it easy enough to rewire etc? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ah that's perfect thank you! Sounds like something I could handle and possibly enjoy. Does anyone have any idea if me putting a mirror without a puddle lamp will be an issue as the old mirror had a puddle lamp. (Not sure if the wiring would be different etc)

Actually OT, but Wikipedia says:

A wing mirror (also fender mirror, door mirror, or side mirror) is a mirror found on the exterior of motor vehicles for the purposes of helping the driver see areas behind and to the sides of the vehicle, outside of the driver's peripheral vision (in the 'blind spot').

I'm not a native english speaker, so I would like to know, which is the most common term. Question

Something you may want to consider......

The approach lamps are part of the Canbus/lighting module system so by replacing the wing mirror for one without an Approach Lamp may prompt an error message.
Possibly only option if you must fit incorrect mirror is to get dealer to deactivate Approach Lamps if possible and really by the time you've paid the dealer are you saving anything?
Try wreckers for second with approach lamp would be a better option if you need to save cash:thumbsup: MY15
