I have had an annoying interior knocking sound from the rear, offside first then a month later the near side. It progressively got worse but a couple of local garages could not locate the problem, although they could hear it clearly when driving.

If youhave a knock after replacing them then I suspect something else is causing it.

No not a bump stop that I am aware of, its a rubber component on the side of the shocker.

i know what you mean...i replaced both of the when i did the shocks....either they are on wrong....which i doubt as its a one screw thing or my noise is something else |

Mine was knocking slightly on the rear suspension and it turned out to be a failed rear drop link ball joint which can only be tested properly with the rear wheels of the ground. |
