Here's a quick pic with the new grill fitted... will have to wait till the weekend before i make a start on fitting the rest of the kit.

Finished fitting the kit - a few pics but i really need to go out and clean it... just mustering up some motivation...

Front lower spoiler fitted...


Half way through fitting the side skits (removing the old clips securing the old plastic skirts was a complete ended up having to drill some of them out...








Rear spoiler and lower bumber fitted..

Fitting the kit was not that bad a job - easier than i originally expected, however another set of hands is useful when fitting the rear lower bumper..

Overall, i'm v.pleased with the results... money well spent. If anyone is interested, i'll be putting the twin tail pipes for the petrol sports kit onto e-bay soon - i was hoping to be able to retro fit (with a bit of jiggery) on the back side on mine, but the diameter of the diesel exhaust pipe is about 1.5 times larger than the diamter of the petrol exhaust Shame as they look better than the diesel tail pipe... Will have to see if "the big one" of the Disco forum can sort me out the correct diesel tail pipe ..

maybe you could put a little write up together in one post in the tips and tricks section, with a liitle additional detail regarding fitting of the grill and the rest of the items, with before and after pics of your car, if you feel like it that is!

Yep..., got to stop this e-baying lark ... still a pretty good deal though £112 - there is another set about to end in a few days - be interesting to see what they go for..

The tubes should finish it off nice.. Now where did i see those Shadow Chrome 19's...

While on the subject npink - got a problem posting pictures, get the following error when i try:
Destination directory albums/userpics/10525/ is not writable by the script !

Good price on the tubes, i was watching them, as i was pondering to have a on road and off road set but decided not to bother, as i sealed the scratches on the bottom after my last off road trip.

The second set sellers has absolutely no feed back and is advertising them as steps too not tubes

I can help you on the rivnut thing for a small fee

You need some extra bolts size M6 if I recall (ones that require a 10 mm spanner) exactly the same as what comes with the tubes anyway. Push the bolts thru a 7mm ring spanner ,thread the rivnut onto the bolt so trapping the ring spanner. Push the rivnut into the hole under your fl2 (its pre drilled) then tighten with a 10 mm socket. The ring spanner gets tightened onto the rivnut so that the rivnut doesn't turn. hold the spanner or chock it with wood as you wind the 10 mm socket, This squashes the rivnut just like a blind rivit.
As soon as the rivnut has gripped into your car sufficiently , unwind the bolt and free your 7mm spanner leaving the rivnut in the hole.

the bolts threads will be a bit spoiled by now so thats why you need new ones. then when its time to mount the bracket onto the rivnut your new bolt can be fully tightened into the rivnut finishing the riviting process.

You could simply use the same bolts for the whole job but there is then a danger of shearing them off in the rivnut so best to use fresh ones for the final tightening

The hole is slightly larger than the rivnut so you can start the tightening /riviting procedure before getting under the car if that's easier.

The rivnuts dont actually hold the tubes onto the fl2 there are 6 pre threaded holes that do this, The rivnuts just hold the stays that steady the brackets so even a bodge job wont leave the car dangerous.

I found the rivnut part easy enough they are quite easy to tighten down and only one of the four gave me trouble by spinning in the 7 mm spanner as I tightened ..on this one I kept using new bolts untill it surrended and let its self be tightened

Oh yes the bolts must be machine screws meaning threaded right down to the head

If you do shear one off pm me and I can post you some of these to 'self tap' the bracket onto the car

similarly if you cant find the m6 machine screws I have plenty if you want a few? At work
