Potential new owner after advice

Currently have a FL1 TD4 54plate SE model but due to it spending more time in the garage thasn on the road think it's time to upgrade.

Main use for the car apart from small commute to work is to tow my daughters pony about. Have an Ifor Williams 505 trailer.

Also looking at L200 Warrior and Nissan Navara's as anybody else looked at these, previously owned etc

Not on a massive budget £5000-£7500

Thanks in advanced

Hi and welcome - I know a few people who have had both pick ups you mentioned. Heard of a few L200 s requiring new engines some with as little as 30k on them and Navaras usually need turbo replaced around 100k, one friend got shot of his Navara after fitting 2nd replacement turbo. FL2 is a totally different car to FL1. You will get a choice of FL2s in your budget ( including my wife's as she now has an ewok Whistle ) 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Thanks for quick reply I'm doing a lot of reading up on all three cars tonight. I'm swayed to the FL2 at the minute is they anything to look out for on the older ones with 90K plus on. Also is manual or auto more reliable. I'm not really bothered about toys inside but would like side steps to help kids in and out.

If you buy the L200 or Navara you'll soon realise you've bought a truck. They're heavy beasts and will cost more to run. They're a bit too heavy for offroad use and aren't great on the road in the wet. The FL2 feels much more like a car.

Navara's get nicked nearly as much as Defenders too - mainly because people want to replace an engine after a conrod snapped - big problem on early models Td4 XS manual, Orkney Grey, MY2014
