All the manual seems to say is "Install the rear muffler and tighten the service sleeve.

I'm hoping/it should be as simple as that but the clamp today didn't seem to be closing in on the pipe before I ran out of adjustment I didn't go all the way as I didn't want to fully close the clamp

Wow! That's very interesting as is a completely different system to the schematic. You should post these pics up as I'm sure nobody be aware of that configuration. Must be a region/emission specific specification.

Stuart, from the manual it looks as though the original factory fitment has a single pipe right back to the box. If you need to replace the back box you cut that pipe and use the connector to join the new back box.

Ok well this is interesting! I wonder why the part schematic shows the intermediate pipe then? Be interesting if we can get Lightwater or Philllip to confirm.

Topix clearly states that changing both petrol and diesel back box's involves cutting the pipe 300mm from the leading/front face of the back box so all systems must be one piece from factory, mystery solved, logical.

I think it is a continuous pipe. I will look at it in the morning. No light in the garage & we have some of that strange wet stuff from the sky which we haven't had for a month or so. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
