I think I will take mine for a detune so the diff, wheel bearings, clutch and flywheel last a bit longer this time.

Surely, spending a couple of hundred £s or more on a remap to get a few extra (claimed) mpg or more performance is a doubtful proposition. What's is the payback mileage? My FL2 drives fine as it is and I don't do a huge mileage these days. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I didn't map it for economy. I wanted the extra power. Any fuel saving is a bonus for me Thumbs Up

Though an extra 40-50 miles per tank, quick fag packet maths says 60-ish tanks to repay itself

As a matter of interest, does the little green "change up now" light on the dash still light up and if so do you agree with it's settings? I always feel that mine (unmodified FL2) comes on a bit too early. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I feel it comes on at the right time when changing up through the gears, but when cruising at slower speeds, it comes on too early...

Will have to remember this thread, surprising how many people say, more power = more fuel, usually by ones that have never had it done. Of course, if your going to hoon it about using the power it will, but driven the same way as pre remap it's a win win, just a better drive and better in the pocket. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Mikey iv`e been considering a re-map on my Sd4 due to the fact i tow a twin axle caravan but concerned it may overload the drive train your Td4 is basically a SD but detuned so remap effectively gives it the same as the Sd4 which is = 190 bhp had a RRs before which i had re-mapped and was a delight to drive and the Sd4 is also no slouch being smaller and lighter think i need to do more research before i commit all the best enjoy your re-map

Having recently sampled a customers 2011 Auto Sd4, and is more than quick enough, and doesn't need a remap Whistle Thumbs Up

Thanks for the feed back, confirms my thoughts and is probably why i have held back and not had it done already ,i think you will agree as standard the Sd4 is pretty quick i was only considering it for the increase in torque but when you break it down i`m only towing a few times a year so probably better leaving as standard but thanks again for feedback Thumbs Up

Until you do the remap on the SD4 and have torque available from bout 1000rpm with minimal turbo lag, it really is something to enjoy... My Ride: Clickety-click

It's the gearchanges in the auto Shocked

Was never a fan of the auto when they first came out, but that is the first Sd4 Auto I have driven, and the gearbox is a revelation over what I remember with the lower powered models

In outright pace, I expect there is very little between a mapped manual and a standard auto, but the manual gearchanges slow the car down...
