Ive seen them advertised before, I think they are genuine Land Rover items and the tent and connecting tunnel are sold separately............... and typically being LR items they are leaning towards the stupidly pricey end of cost.

I only saw the £80 at first which is why I said to bite their hands off.

personally i don't see the need for them, how often have you thought, i could do with a tent attached to the back of the car, maybe a few times in OZ due to the heat, but i think a Coleman Event shelter would be more versatile Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

Hahah yes looked a great idea until I started looking at prices😱 I think I can better spend the money. Maybe a few may come up cheap in the future! MY15

I also thought that they were day tents only and not for sleeping in.

Perhaps I'm missing something here or isn't this just a drive-away awning for use with a campervan ? Alright, it may be of higher quality (it has an LR badge after all) but I fit rails to customers camper vans regularly so that these things can be "attached". They start at about £150 for a half decent one and they come with the "tunnel" for attachment.

Don't you fill your tent with diesel fumes when backing up to the tunnel? Yuk. |

There's a bumper partition I'm guessing would prevent this.

I've seen tents like that (cheap B&Q versions, not over-priced LR versions!) erected actually over the rear end of cars at dog shows to give shade for the dogs, as even with the tailgate wide open (dogs caged inside) the back of a car can get uncomfortably hot in direct sun. Others use the even cheaper drape-a-tarpaulin approach. Then at picnic time it can be used to give shade to the humans too. |
