The clutch supposed to auto adjust but sometimes seize up I believe, this was the main reason my clutch failed early, or part of it so the dealer said? |

The clutch doesn't adjust, it's the slave cylinder that just moves out a bit more as the clutch wears. Might be worth bleeding the clutch and checking your brake/clutch fluid level (they share the reservoir but the brakes get priority if the fluid is low). Did they change the slave cylinder when they did the clutch? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Yes the Slave cylinder was replaced with a clutch and flywheel kit supplied directly from LUK. The only item that wasn't replaced was the master cylinder, Checked brake fluid level which is still on maximum.

Its not easy reversing up a steep hill in a FL2 without giving it revs, reverse gear is very high, higher than most people can comfortably reverse without allowing it to slip a bit. Once your moving, even on tickover you are doing about 4mph. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Not to hijack your post, but what are the clutches like in the diesel 2007's? I currently drive a peugeot 307 petrol, where the biting point is literally at the top of the pedal. It's horrendous to drive. |

In answer to the last post, FL2 clutches should be light and the bite midway on the pedal travel. In my experience as the clutch wears the bite gets progressively higher and sometimes fierce. I test drove a couple of FL2 that had clutches like a Defender! |

My clutch pedal is quite heavy for a freelander to describe its almost as hard as it is to push the brake pedal. Changing gears are quite notchy which Landover say is normal yet my mates freelander 2 seams smooth and his clutch pedal is lighter. |
