Boot lock won't open

The boot lock on my Fl2 won't open from either the main button inside the car nor button on the key fob which opens all the doors. It still opens from the button on the key fob specifically for the boot but this is a nuisance as I have to turn the engine off to open the boot. One garage has suggested I need a whole new boot lock mechanism. Has anybody else come across this and found an easier solution?

2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Indus Silver

The part number is LR042648

It's less than £30, just replace it.

Try Advanced Factors or Duckworths - both site sponsors.

When you come to replace your rear windscreen motor you will be a wizz at it...........

Very Happy

Got the part now what?

Hi ALL

Long time no speak. I got the replacement part and tuned into the video (thanks for linking that on here) but it only shows me how to remove the rear handle but not how to replace the part.

Does anybody out there have some guidance or perhaps another video - they have been great I have used them for other small jobs.

Thanks
