I have a twin axle caravan 1800Kgs which I currently tow with a D3, Im thinking about buying a FL2 for my wife and would like to know if it would tow the caravan if ever the D3 was out of action

I assume you mean 1800 KGS rather than 1800 hundred weight ??!!

I'm sure it will tow it - twin axles are inherently more stable. forum moderator NPinks tows something like 1850 with his so will doubtless come along and confirm it will do it.

Just watch your clutch though. I tow 1480kgs with my manual FL2 and have just arrived in the Vendee region of France (500 miles from home). My clutch is slipping in 4,5 & 6 if I use too much gas from 1900 rpm. A large bill coming when I get home, I suspect. Not great at 52k miles. FL2 2007 57 GS

The fl2 will tow your twin axle safely as i also tow a twin with mine and have just returned from the Lake District with no issues,even kept up with my mate towing identical van with his D3
