£25 to hard wire the unit and when you switch off the ignition it give 2 options power off automatically after 30seconds or run off battery then once you start car again it power up on its own. thats what its does when i tried it in my present car. I have to take my FL2 back to the dealer (dodgy fuel guage) so I might get them to wire it in for free? |

I wired mine into the power lead that powers the front cigarette lighter; saves going behind the dash. |

There is a fuse box in the passenger footwell, at least one fuse in there should be suitable and convenient? At work

I might give that a go, took my FL2 in to the stealers today for the heater fuse fire risk & wondered if they could wire it up out of courtesy The answer was no & ironically they wanted 0.8hrs = £76 + VAT to wire it up? They were embarressed when I told them I couldn't justify spending more on fitting the satnav than it actually cost to buy in the first place! What a bunch of ... Barton, which dealer charged you £25 to wire it up? Thanks! |

If was Marshalls at Peterboro but they passed on the work on to the guys who fitted my parrot bluetooth and roofmount dvd so it was all done at the same time, just make sure you fit it to a accesory socket though as it still need to run at 5.3volts so don't just cut the plug of and wire it to 12volts as you risk it catching fire according to the sony nav forums.
