Has anyone had a successful repair on the vinyl seat bolster (see photo)?

I find that you hit your head on the way in and out then - and since there's nowhere to hold on to I get finger prints over my A pillar, and I can't be having that |

At last - found a good trimmer here in Cornwall who can do it. Going in next week, £60 -£70. |

On my previous SE, I repaired it myself. Took ages, all by hand. At least I learnt what saddle stitch is! By the way, the side panel is not leather (even on a leather seat), it is "pleather " - vinyl really.

Yes, as I noted above the photo on my first post! I wonder whether the all-leather seats on the HSE really are...? |

The answer is in the description, leather faced, bum and back, leather should be all of the seat, but the back is usually excluded. Full leather could mean anything, but all leather is a definition, i.e all leather seats, no placcy my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

My seat bolster has also split, I have been to a trimmer who can repair the bolster but he hasn't got the correct shade of vinyl as mine is a beige with a green sort of tint if you know what I mean. I think ford used the same material on the sides of the ford transit seats. Sorry I forgot to add that I have the leather seats upgrade on a xs specification. |

Mine is finally in for repair today. We had to match the material carefully as the "almond" colour has changed over the years and putting the original colour in would have looked completely wrong. Trouble was the upholsterer couldn't just buy a metre and had to buy a whole roll! I think it was about £60... If anyone needs any, I have loads! I looked at earlier instructions for removing the seat base, but the photos seemed to bear no resemblance to mine. I could only find 2 10mm bolts at the front, but since they were described as "easy access" I can only say that mine weren't! Let's hope the upholsterer is having more luck... |

I shouldnt be called leather if its not leather though, leather is the word for animal skin, anything else so described you could sue them, now theres an idea? and folk use the word leather basically for any plastic stuff that looks sort of like it. |
