Don't know what the Witter electrics are (bypass or dedicated) but LR electrics need no by-pass, are easy to DIY fit. LR electrics will confer certain benefits such as no breaking into the existing wiring harness, rear parking sensor and fog lights control, dashboard trailer indicator lamp instead of a beeper, easy transfer to another FL2 should you change you car...

Thanks for that. I think I'll go for gen LR electrics. My local LR specialist can sort the other bits out when I get the car serviced. Might as well kill 2 birds with one stone 😊 2011 Sport LE SD4 Auto Firenze Red

I have witter tow bar and electronics on mine and it has all the features as mentioned above, although it was already fitted when I bought the car so not sure about activation. |

The detachable will fit both but the fixed towbar will require one with a narrow shaped neck to accomodate the Alko Stabiliser. Freelander 2 TD4 GS 2011 Manual Satorini Black (Current)

An Al-Ko tow ball is perfectly ok for both standard hitch heads and stabiliser hitch heads. For the former you will need to apply a little grease to the hitch cup and/or ball. For the latter, simply wipe clean with brake cleaner to prevent grease contamination of the stabiliser pads. The Witter detachable flange tow bar will suit your towing requirements but may be a bit of an expensive overkill if it is only for towing rather than towing and / or carrying.
Any fixed flange or detachable fixed flange with an Al-Ko ball and any swan neck or standard detachable tow bar will fully meet your towing needs. |
