Got my new toy...........

Hi, just thought I would say hi. Bought this today.
Really happy with it. Been looking for a while, took a while to right exactly what I wanted.
I am always a very active member of the car owner forums that I join (until I sell the car) and I hope to get to know a few of you.
This is replacing my L200 Warrior, which was amazing in the snow/floods of the last few years, and basically never went wrong so my new Freelander has got a lot to live upto.

Welcome to Landieland. Hope you got a good Freely2 - they are great vehicles. The Itchypussy L200 is a proper workhorse - sadly Landrover have just about abandoned the affordable utility 4 x 4 market , mainly frilly bling and technological gizmos nowadays, not really fit for getting mucky. The Freely2 will be a far better road car than the L200 and probably better off road (and in snow) - the essential dual purpose nature which made the brand great. Until a new Defender replacement comes along there will be nothing affordable for me in the LR line up so I can see myself going for an Itchy Shogun or something similar even though they are not great road cars. LR got so much right with the Freely2, it will be sorely missed in the market place so the Japs etc will be able to clean up the market for 4 x 4s below about £40,000. Enjoy!

Hop over to the Disco 3/4 site see what they guys throw at their £50k HSE Discos, they ain't shy. Also have you seen the planned replacement for the Shogun? It's all curves and bling.

I'm moving back to the Disco for practicality, throw anything at it and in it, takes it in its stride. Many say I'm crazy when there is a new one on the horizon but having lived with the DS for the past few months, the new generation of Discos ain't for me, plus as you say the price is going in the wrong direction.

Anyway back on topic, enjoy your Fl2. It looks a tidy example. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Cracking Freely you have there but I would say that its the same as mine, I take mine to play at Rockingham off road course where they also do Landcover experience days and apart from a couple of the tougher bits where I do not have enough clearance (HST trims) she does just what I want her to do.

Enjoy your new toy and welcome.
