Si6 Brake Upgrade?

Anyone upgraded the brakes on their Td4 yet?

Wife's car has a brake wobble, so thought I may as well upgrade them while its being replaced anyway

Will they fit under 17" GS wheels?

Any ideas? Question

The callipers have been done on this thread, but he would have had 18"/19" wheels.

Within reason you should be ok, you could have had 16" rims on yours, but the 16" wheels have been dropped on the later models to allow for clearance on the Electric Handbrake. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

There's also a member on here profile name "Cambo", who's done a brake upgrade on his Si6 so contact him to see what he did. I think from memory he also used a Volvo disc and calliper as it was a straight swap. Thumbs Up MY15

The XC90 calipers with 336mm discs on the front probably won't fit under 17" wheels, i've got 18" on ours and it's a tight fit.

I would expect the standard petrol-spec fronts to fit under 17's though...as 17" was a factory fitment on petrols.

The rear discs are also different between the petrols & diesels (petrols are vented, diesels are solid)

To upgrade a diesel model to the full petrol spec brakes you need complete rear calipers incl. mounting brackets off a petrol, though the front calipers just need a different mounting bracket, the caliper itself is the same.

Oh and the dust shields on the front would need changing, or just leave them off all together...

Front caliper brackets, LR001014, 2x needed
Front pads
Front rotors
Rear calipers
Rear pads
Rear rotors

You're basically changing the entire braking system... 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers
