235/65/R19 - has anyone fitted these, got any pics??

I've just purchased a set of the 19" diamond turned 10spoke wheels, they come with 235/55/r19 tyres which unfortunately have less sidewall than the original 235/60/r18 so I'm looking at moving to a set of 235/65/R19 which is same width but a larger sidewall than the original. (FYI 235/60r19 doesn't seem to exist)

I'm aware this changes the circumference of the wheel by 6% (not ideal but thankfully not so big that it will cause much stress on the drivetrain) it will change the speedo reading, but I can live with that as I have the GPS.

I'm fairly confident it won't rub, but curious if anyone has put these on and has any side on pics, i'm a little fussy about the look of my car and don't want a beefcake wheel with a city slicker car..

any advice?

Also, the tyres are scorpion all season, I've heard some seriously mixed reviews, happy to hear your thoughts? FYI I got 50,000km of the original continental tyres.. very happy with that, only about 30,000 off my more recent tyres. 2011 black FL2

All I suggest you do is lower the pressures whilst negotiating soft sand. The Change in tyre size your proposing will have little to nil affect! MY15

Hi Stuart

The sidewall on the current tyres on 19" wheels is 8.3% less than what I had on the 18" wheels, Are you saying this won't make much difference on the sand? I'm worried the 18" tyres were 'just' enough for soft sand, any less and it would be worrying.

The new tyre proposed for the 19" wheel will instead be 8.3% higher (thus 18.1% bigger sidewall than what is currently on it)

That's pretty significant I should think? 2011 black FL2

Btw I have the same wheels as in your picture, assume you have the 235/55 tyres on it? Have you gone on soft sand? 2011 black FL2

Yes 235/55 R19, they came std.

Not soft sand as yet!
The size differential you are proposing will make no difference.
Lowering your tyre pressures will make a huge difference as this allows the tyre to "balloon" and float on the sand but be aware not to go too fast, or load up the vehicle. The std 19's should be ideal as long as you reduce tyre pressure. Road tyres are ideal as their patterns are not designed to "dig in" combined with lower pressures creates a float phenomenon. As soon as you have finished soft sand terrain you should return to normal pressures.
I have work with the largest European tyre manufacturer State (NSW) and National both Technical and Corporate and are very familiar with tyre technology, techniques and capabilities. MY15
