MY14 - Streaming Music Via Bluetooth

I am just about to take delivery of my exchange Freelander, an SD4 HSE Lux. Yesterday I spent some time with it, moving my stuff from old to new, and also paired my HTC Android phone etc.

Looking at the menu, I have the option for Bluetooth under 'My Music' which indicates that I can stream music via Bluetooth (and this is also what the salesman advised). As mentioned above, I paired the phone, no problem, but when I tried to stream the music, it didn't do anything - no folders, music or anything displayed.

I obviously do not have the car yet, and probably need to play a bit more, but in preparation for getting it I was hoping someone could advise if I need to pair the phone as a 'portable device' via the Music soft button as well as via the 'Phone' menu (i.e paired as a phone and portable device). This is what the manual seems to hint at but is not crystal clear. I haven't done this yet, and if needed would explain why it wouldn't stream yesterday.

Thanks in anticipation.

It's a simple one step process. You can either pair your phone to the vehicle or visa
Versa. Everything then should be available from the screen. No need to do anything twice!
I'm an iphone user so not familiar with Android but the only impediment to this process would be if you have your settings on your phone to not allow 3rd party sharing/security, either contacts, music, phone or all.
You also have more access/information if you connect via the USB port.
As the cars not new you may want to make sure you clear any other phone pairings in the memory as there is a limit, 5 I think.
It's all pretty clear in the owners manual but if your having problems make sure it's not with the phone first. MY15

Thanks for reply. I will have a look when I get it tomorrow. The phone appears to be set up for sharing.

All I saw on the centre console screen (from memory) was it was displaying something about Absolute 80s and nothing to do with media at all.

The other thing could be that all my music is on a micro SD card, and not internal phone memory. Maybe that affects it.

Right, picked up the car this morning and it streams fine. perhaps it needed to be switched off and on again after pairing. Whatever the reason, its all OK.

Thanks for replies.
