For me the tubes look better whereas the steps look too bulky buts its my personal opinion. Not sure about the chrome mirror covers though 2007 GS TD4, Narvik Black, Privacy Glass, Chrome Tubes, HSE alloys, Clear repeaters, detachable tow bar and retro fit Sony Sat Nav |

What is the point of fitting the side tubes - But if it for looks alone you can keep them to yourself 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

tubes protect the underneath of the car / car sills when off roading too as they are set lower than the car itself Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

Or do they just get in the way when off-roading? In any case any damage to the rubber/plastic side covers on the bottom of the door/sills can easliy be replaced. If the damage is greater I dont think tubes would help much In addition they must get in the way when washing the car and probably be a source of rust in time. Dont think they give the FL2 a better apperiance either, but everybody to there own I guess 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Yes they do rub on the crest of a hill sometimes, but i would rather have that and the occassional need for a little paint on them, than ripping off the plastic trim and scratching it on the the ground.

Wrong CG - not irritated at all, just making a point of view If you guys want to fit bits and peices to an otherwise smart vehicle that up to you. If I should add stuff it has to be for good practical reasons (except the clear indicators) and not for vain custom apperences. But as I said - everybody to thier own 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

Side tubes also act as an extended mud flap keeping your shiny paint work clean, I learnt this from the standard tubes fitted to my pickup so decided to fit tubes on my FL2 At work

They also play a nice musical tune when you drive down a gravel track, so if they are deflecting stones its also less marks on the side of the car too Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |
