Yes, it can be done, but it's not something "plug'n'play"... Smile
You must judge each file by its own.
You have to have the original VBF file in order to know the blocks starts and lengths.
Then you need to know the internal structure/arrangement of BIN files in order to know from where to take the blocks for the VBF.

I've tried to explain a little in the following places:

Thank you so much! Tell me what program you can open these files?

Don't get me wrong, but if you have no experience with flashing, better don't do it... You can mess things up... Do it at your own risk! Don't hold me responsible if something will go wrong.

Below are the steps that can be used for flashing modules with SDD.
It's a workaround solution that's allowing you to flash whichever module you want with whichever firmware you want.
So it's a very powerful and in the same time dangerous procedure if not done properly, because there are no foolproof checks.
Meaning you should know exactly what you do, what you program/flash and where and in which conditions.
Two important things are:
1. You must have a battery conditioner connected when you do it to maintain at least 12.6V on the system
2. The engine must be OFF.
Again, be very, very, very, very careful with this stuff....

I'm trying to install your display mod and using a different version of the DVD (130.03) and an stuck as to where to go to perform the mod.

I have managed to clear some fault codes and change the display units, so am in the module somewhere.

I've got a little further,

I've copied the AH52-14C026-AD.VBF file into c:\program files\JLR\IDS\Flash\vbf

Run Softwaredownload and selected AH52-10849-FD, clicked the green tick which took me to VIN 'page' then nothing, clicking the green arrow took me back to the previous page.

It was mentioned in the excellent tutorial 'Previously, you replaced the necessary files with the modified ones. ' but there was only one file in the rars I downloaded.

I had another go at updating the firmware and apart from a couple of time-outs, it worked without problems.

Thank you very much Alex for modifying this.

Sorry, not that I don't want to tell - otherwise I wouldn't have published such info, but it's too much to explain through mail or forum...
Contact Greg777 from Russian forum and he can explain better in your native language.

I can give you the file, but you'll need a method/way to program it into the cluster.
By the use of SDD (dealer tool) or an aftermarket tool.

Спасибо большое всё работает как надо

What is there is a little strange....
Because the system says that a 2011 manufacturing year software version is available for your 2008 car...
The BCM's are different, from what I know...
Also you don't have there the complete firmware archive, at least for the BCM. There are much more versions for the BCM software. Do you have the complete software database? Which SDD version do you have?

Try to program the default software version for your BCM. Look at the hardware number and program the corresponding software package.
Also try to replace/reprogram the "As built" CCF version in your BCM.

Sometimes software download fail from various reasons. Don't worry and retry until it works.
Also it's good thing to have connected a battery conditioner when programming software, in order to keep the voltage above 13V on the battery.

Try to contact Greg777 or LabMouse for this, depending on which is closer to you.
They will guide you more efficiently, in your native language. Or maybe they can do it for you.

2009 Freelander 2 TD4 S Auto Zermatt Silver

Hello gentlemen, perhaps you can assist me in the following, especially Alex:

I have a Disco3 and I have been trying to reprogram a Bluetooth telephone module using the SDD workaround mentioned in this post. All is going well until I get an error "invalid vehicle configuration" during the start of the programming sequence and programming ends. I use SDD v.125.03

Now 3 reasons that may have contributed to this error are as follows:

1.) I have successfully upgraded to the premium audio system and touchscreen (MOST based - my car initially had the base audio). That means my CCF file is pretty different (modified) than the as-built one and I have a feeling the SDD workaround is using the as-built one

2.) the telephone ECU may have been bricked (I reprogrammed it once to a later version using normal SDD channels, SDD showed that all went well but the Bluetooth function did not work from then on although the MOST ring works OK as I have sound, etc

3.) the telephone module does not show (does not have a green tick) in the modules view during normal SDD startup neither does it show in network report.

I would appreciate your inputs on the above.

Thanking you all in advance
Rennos

_____________________________________________________________

Translation of course is not the best at Google on
1. sdd try to upgrade to at least 139,
2. Adaptation to reset to the original (us built)
3. The re-conduct the procedure, which is made with radio
4. you, judging by mistake, you need to update the calibration sdd
