Did you get it from a LR dealer?? If not you could take it to an indy and see what they say, then go back to the supplying dealer. My car was in at the indy I use for a different problem. We got talking about Freelanders and he said there's no mistaking when the rear diff goes. But he did say that some people think that the noise is just a car noise and just drive it about until the mechanic points it out!
