Don't mess with the Queen's Guard

This was in the papers several days ago but the video made interesting viewing. I think the idiot who made contact with the guard must have sh Censored himself when challenged Rolling with laughter

Not overly professional threatening a tourist (who hadn't really offered any threat) with a rifle and bayonet but perhaps not surprising. For a lot of these young guardsmen, ceremonial is their first taste of life in the Household Division after basic training and before they join their regular battalion to start their 'real' soldiering.

He was totally professional, in this day and age when wearing a uniform, of any kind, in public, makes you a target how was he to know whether it was a tourist or a terrorist?

A threat very often isn't offered, it usually happens when it's too late.

A tourist messing about with a soldier armed with an assault rifle deserves everything he/she gets for their crass stupidity.

They are not just there for ceremonial duties, who knows who is a tourist these days? The old days of tourist attraction are long gone, to day they may well be armed, otherwise why use the latest rifles?, the old Lee Enfield looks better for tourist photos my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

My personal opinion on this incident, is that the guard behaved and reacted impeccibly. He only needed to give a single warning (which he did) and given the volatility of the situation in this country just now, no lefty tw@@ats could have possibly complained had that guardsman run him through given aforementioned fair warning!! (Awaits post removal by mods for offending *someone* tossers) Foraging near Gaydon....

No complaints from me Mr Badger. I'm amazed how much some idiots (and they're not all foreign tourists) get away with in the disrespectful way they treat guardsmen on duty.
