Air con late 2007

Hi guys
Could anyone please tell me when a new air conditioning compressor is fitted do you need to re gas the system.
Reason I ask is my unit was noisy and Land Rover replaced the the compressor (under warranty)and the noise is even worse and air is not very cold.

I gather they know what they are doing Rolling Eyes
Thanks in advance

Dave

They should have re gassed the system if the pump was changed, sounds like a leak may be somewhere, go for a re gas, the pressure as it now will show any discrepancy and whilst they re gas they will be able to see if it holds pressure Thumbs Up

Thanks for the speedy replies. Land Rover have it back in on Tuesday so no cost to me as its covered on warranty as they changed the pump. I was wondering tho if they replaced the pump shouldn't they done any standard checks while it was in.

To my mind, if they replaced the pump, the system would have been regassed & should have been leak checked. However, in this day & age, I suspect they do as little as possible, as quickly as possible! (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto.
