2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black
Loss of power

Hi peeps
Totally new to the forum I have a problem with my 2009 freelander td4. Right here we go I did a complete service back in April changing all the filters and oil like you do. Recently I have noticed if I get stuck in traffic or am stationary for any time I loose all power. After a few hundred feet then power returns. It's almost like something is getting hot then once the airflow cools it then the power returns. Any ideas???? I've had a new maf and map sensor fitted.
Thanks in advance

Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue

Its called "heatsoak"

As you drive along, the air passing through the intercooler brings the boost temperatures down, making the air more dense, thus filling the cylinders with more air and more fuel

As you sit in traffic, this cooling effect does not take place, especially if you have just being doing a decent speed Everything is cooking hot, and as a result, the air going into the engine is a lot warmer, and less dense, and less fuel is injected, giving your lac kof power

As you drive off again, it all begins to cool down with the airflow, and normal service is resumed Thumbs Up
