Activate Towbar Electrics

Anyone have a multi vin iid tool, faultmate or nanacom that can activate my genuine Towbar electrics, bought them new and was told they would not need activating but they do, contacted dealers etc but bit expensive so rather than pay them first thought I would check on here, live between Leeds and York.

Cheers

Hi Chris, I activated mine a few months back using a mongoose cable and program.
Cheap as chips and useful for future diagnostics/upgrades. Thumbs Up

Joe Fix it until it's broke !

They don't need activating on MY13 onwards. On earlier cars they do. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

When I tried to get mine programmed on my 2011 recently I went to a supposed towbar specialist and they were unable to programme my genuine LR electrics. Still charged me for the pleasure in the end went to LR and it cost me £60. For me trying to find a cheaper option cost me more than double and a bit of stress too! Hope u get it going. Don't know why LR made it so it requires programmed when the latter ones are plug and play. Regards

Alan

I'm still on the lookout too, local independent didn't even bother getting back to me when I contacted them for a price. Another did reply but he didn't have Autologic to re-code the car.
