Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue
2010 TD4.e Remapped!

Had an Alive Tuning remap put onto the Freelander 2 today Mr. Green

Opted for a normal map, as opposed to higher power.

Immediately, throttle response was improved. Pulling out of junctions is massively better, with much less lag moving off from a standstill.
Then once your moving Laughing

As standard, its not particularly slow. However, there is so much more torque, most noticeable above 3rd gear. It will gladly pull from 1000rpm in 3rd now, as the revs build you feel yourself getting pulled into the seat, and it doesn't let up until you change gear, then it starts all over again Mr. Green

Glad I didn't wait too long to have it done Thumbs Up

Sounds good Cool

So if that's just a "normal' map, what would the 'higher power' map give you. Shocked

Thumbs Up

I look forward to it Laughing

I would have gone for big power, but it's only the wife's car. A Disco 3 with 260bhp, and a Freelander 1.8 Turbo with 205bhp keeps me entertained enough Thumbs Up

Alive's remaps are priced by the individual agents, what I was charged may not be what someone else is charged. That said, the agent in Scotland charges £400, but I paid £350

To early to comment on MPG, but it averaged 38mpg before its map. No doubt this weekend will see some miles out on it, and will report back Thumbs Up

Will follow this with interest. Considering this once the warranty is out. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

I could ask, and find out. But when it comes to tuning Land Rovers, I am more than confident with what Alive do. So much so, I am taking my Disco 3 down to them in a couple of weeks time, to let them loose on that, and the dyno Thumbs Up

I have to say I am unimpressed with Alive Tuning's website.
Lots of sexy pictures and a few paragraphs of blurb, but NO facts and figures, NO pricelist and a Dealer Map that comes up blank.
Not sure how they think they're going to get customers with that.

Add on tuning boxes modify signals from inputs before they reach ECU. Simple terms "they tell lies to ECU".
Remap is what professionals do on competition cars to suit disciplines, fuel etc.
Some remap services will offer a free remap if lost during dealer service upgrade. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

MPG seems to have improved by around 3-4mpg, on a run.

Around town, it's very similar

Thumbs Up
