Any ideas, engine on wife's car is slow to pick up through the throttle and lacks power, checked fault codes nothing there, changed fuel filter was wondering about MAF sensor as on earlier Freelanders they never recorded fault codes and wondered If FL2's where the same ? 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8

Couple of suggestions for you:
Has the EGR valve ever been cleaned?
Maplins aerosol of electrical cleaner - give the MAF sensor a squirt. There's a pdf here that I wrote for the Jag forum on how to do it www.sajah.keepandshare.com

Thanks westville, was thinking of giving the MAF a spray. I would expect to see the EML come on if the EGR was sticking but as said above no codes recorded. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8

re EGR - If they get really gunked up but not yet blocked it can seriously impede performance - nearly always get a noticeable improvement in performance and economy when you clean them  No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS
