Yeah good idea but when I said chequered look I probably wasn't explaining myself adequately. More Like a series of strips, black, silver, black, silver then solid black until the repeater. that's why I have those pieces there in the pic to represent where I need to remove part of the black film. Thanks for the suggestion though! no blue just used those two pieces, which happen to be blue and a white, to Illustrate where I need to cut out the black film to expose the silver underneath. Giving me a black/silver/black/silver/solid black appearance. No need to cut the black, just get some sticky-back silver vinyl (eg pinstrip or A4 sheet), cut to size and place over the black. But do you need a break in the black ? FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:- Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip, Bluetooth Music Streaming Module. |

Been out and about and the sun was kind enough to be out today as the weekend here was nice and wet, for a change! I'm really happy with the way it is actually and looks great without any adornments. Really happy now that the front grill and fender vents are cohesive!

I have actually brought it behind slightly as there is a indentation in the cast of the vent which I have followed with the film. Bit like a "shadow line" effect. Bit undecided about continuing it further and can add at anytime if I decide to as join

Thanks The mesh part of the grill I just carefully masked off the area I didn't want painted and then applied a good quality self priming gloss black enamel. I removed the whole grill first though. The centre spar is just automotive gloss black film applied behind the repeater. Quite a difficult area to mask effectively so this was a better method of achieving a good result. MY15

Diadem globes arrived today and as you can see from the pics the orange tint has now gone from the repeater. These match the front indicator globes which are fitted OE on MY15's.

Do you have any pictures of the black mesh, but without the black stripe in the middle?
