air con pump grumbling

Hi all,

I have a 08 plate 2.2 and It sounds like I have a bearing on the way out on my air con pump. Do you know if I can get new bearings or is it a new pump?

I too have this issue - it seems that the problem is most often resolved by a re-charge of the gas.
If you do a forum search you will find quite a bit about this issue.

Ok thanks will get it booked in to be 're-gassed. Sounds cheaper than a pump.

I can never understand why the air-con is never on the service schedule as it is a serviceable part of the car, but is always treated as standalone item. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

A bit like the fact that your eyes, feet and teeth ain't covered by your NI.
I would imagine that the requirement to regas the system varies according to a number of factors: usage , temperature etc. Therefore not every car would need it done at every service.

I have always been advised to use the air con regularly in order to keep the system working correctly.
The myth that using it will dramatically increase fuel consumption is old hat.
Surely you used it over the last few days? Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?
