Volumetric sensor removal

Hi
Sorry to be thick but how did you remove the sensor. I have tried squeezing the sides and using a flat knife to find the clips but have not been too brutal as I do not want to brake the plastic. So wants the trick please.

I recently bought my 2010 XS Freelander 2 and joined this forum to see what I could learn.

I am really glad I did as on reading about the number of folk who have found the volumetric alarms not working on their cars I went out and tried mine and yep - mine didn't work either.

I may never have thought to test it and clearly the previous owner hadn't either. I followed the guidance here, though pulling the sensor unit off the roof was a tad nerve wracking, removed the green plug, re-inserted firmly and tested again. This time it worked just fine so would like to say a big thank you to those who posted the problem and the fix.

I am left wondering now just how many Freelander2's owners are diligently "fully" setting their alarms as they leave their cars believing all parts of the system are on when in fact the volumetric system is inactive. A brick through a window would not set the system off!!

Just tried this and couldn't get the alarm to trigger until after unplugging the green connection and reconnecting. How strange!

Thanks for the tip folks.

I went out and checked my alarm sensor and mine wasn't working too unplugged green socket now the sensor works. Very Happy
I also got some strange looks from my neighbour when I locked my self in the car. Embarassed
The alarm sensors seams to only activate when you double lock.

Yes, the alarm only sets on double locking, this is so you can lock a dog or similar in the vehicle, if it set the alarm the dog moves the alarm would activate.

Before anyone jumps on this, I do not suggest you lock a dog in the car in hot weather with windows closed. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior
