superb guide and clearer than the LR instructions ( ie does the last picture mean not put anything on the bars for 8hrs or not to leave anything on for >8hrs)

kit arrives next week

on a related note the LR guide states that the rear parts of the trim where the washes also fit must also be drilled. can I confirm if it really does or can you just sit the washers on top ?

last question - i suspect the question of "what are the best bars" has been done to death. can someone summarize ? for me low drag / easy to put on / take off are key. Which are the best bars ?

The after-market kit has shouldered washers that you can face down to save cutting out the plastic. For me this is great so I can remove the roof rails and just put the blanks back in.
I would only have to replace the very front piece of trim if i were to remove the roof rails.

I have Thule cross rails which I have to say fit very well. top box has now got top spot.
had to remove again to get the car in the garage Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head LOL Jaguar x-type sport gone

last question from me on this

the kit I have is a genuine LR kit from duckworths and it seems to have stepped washers, am i right that i dont need to drill the rear then ? the instructions seem to state I do need to but the washers in the kit are stepped ?
